I colorized, restored, and crafted the sound design of Rare footage capturing Phoenix, Arizona in 1959, featuring downtown Central Avenue lined with palm trees and a clear view of the historic Jefferson Hotel (Barrister Building) — later made famous by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960). On the right, we can see the “Phoenix Title” building, and further down “Arizona Truck”, while a street sign reading “5th Ave” as downtown Phoenix. The film also shows the intersection with Grand Avenue, several residential neighborhoods, and even a brief rainy scene, offering an authentic glimpse of the city’s mid-century atmosphere.
