Tomorrow’s World presenters Judith Hann and Peter Macann look at a concept car that aims to predict the kind of vehicles we might well be driving in the 21st Century. One of the most interesting features of the car is a large navigation panel that will offer drivers assistance using satellite navigation.
How feasible is in-car navigation in 1986? Maggie Philbin visits the Transport and Road Research Facility in Crowthorne to test out two of the latest prototype in-car navigation systems. How do they work – and how long before we can expect to see them in production vehicles?
