Nationwide’s John Hitchins reports from the Gloucestershire studio of Kit Williams, where the artist and author has been working for three years on an ambitious new picture book called Masquerade.
What makes Masquerade unique is that its striking artwork contains cryptic clues and riddles which, when solved, will lead readers to the hiding place of a valuable piece of jewellery – a gold hare inlaid with precious stones. The first person to solve the mystery of Masquerade will get to keep the golden hare – which is valued at around £5,000. The multi-talented Williams has crafted the prize himself, and buried it in a sealed terracotta pot, on public property, somewhere in Britain…
