Series for schools and colleges. Just how important is money? Very, for those who have little or none at all. This week’s programme looks at life above and below the poverty line, through the lens of two young Glaswegian women who lead very different lives.
Valerie comes from a wealthy family, doesn’t have to work, and spends much of her time pursing her interests – rally driving, horse riding, drumming, shopping – whatever takes her fancy. She lives in a luxury flat, bought with money from her grandparents, and drives an E-Type Jaguar – a gift from her parents.
Ina lives in a council flat in the East End of Glasgow with her parents and her siblings. Ina left school at 15 in order to earn a wage. She currently works in a factory as a cable former, and works part time at a pub.
