Christopher Brasher reports on the moving of an ancient house in Hereford to make way for a new development. The old house has been reinforced, carefully mounted on hydraulic jacks, and will be pulled along steel tracks – an inch at a time – by two lorries, to a place where it can be safely parked. The plan is for it to be placed in the corner of the new development – a Littlewood’s store.
